Are you leaving all the trim colors as is or painting?

We lived in Philly brick rowhouse (Fairmount) and went through paint color decisions a few years ago for our shutters - around and around with blues, blacks, and green. We ultimately chose black. I recommend it for your door too. I presume you will be painting the storm door the same color as well? I think it looks busy to have three different colors on the narrower width rowhouses.

As much as I wanted to go with a color, I think black would be best. I do like the hunter green. I also like a deep yellow. Benjamin Moore has great yellows in their Historic collection.

Maybe you should consider a semi-gloss, which might look better and is more durable.

I voted "Other", preferring Desert Sand or Wineberry, but now that I read you're keeping the black shutters, then I think you should keep the door black.

If you are keeping the taupe and black, then keep the door black. Or a wood door.

I see snow on the ground there. If you are in a colder climate, I would not remove that storm door. It protects your main door from the harshness of winter weather, and also from heavy rain hitting in warmer weather. I like the door black, but, if you are set on a color, pick one, that is your favorite. Dont worry about any future buyer, they will paint the door to whatever color is their favorite, and wont care what color it is when they buy the house.

Why not go with a wooden door?

I agree wiith above. You may want to consider keeping that screen door. Screen doors do an amazing job of insulating. Keeping cold, drafts and heat during the summer out as well as protecting your door from the elements such as moisture from rain to protect your door. Can keep out bugs. Also good for noise reduction. That glass screen door does show your very nice wood door. You can change that glass out in the summer for a screen and leave it open to bring in a nice breeze as well. If you really like the blue I think that it would look lovely BTW.

i'll give it a go...it appears there's an awning next door. I might go with the same style but with bold stripes (cream/and chosen door color) if using fabric. Perhaps even an elaborate metal portico? It isn't the door color that needs to be different, but the presentation of the door.

I would match the beige/cream color around the door so that it doesn’t appear so narrow, IMO...beautiful place regardless.

Talk about a historical colors…my vote is traditional red. It’s very meaningful. It was/is used to symbolize "welcome” and runaway slaves looked for a red door for safety. I have a contemporary house and boldly used a shade of red after considering black. I love it.

Blue, deep green or even deep red.
