Need help choosing a shingle color for our roof
My husband and I purchased a 1998 colonial style home (see below image) a little over a year ago and suffered wind damage to the roof this past winter. Luckily, our insurance is replacing the entire roof for the cost of the deductible.
The contractor we’re working with prefers Owens Corning shingles. Our budget limits us to using either the Duration or Duration Designer architectural series. We’ve looked at swatches online and in person and even played around with a few online visualizers, but we’re having a difficult time deciding on a color. Right now, we’re going back and forth between the shades Teak (Duration), Driftwood (Duration), and Black Sable (Duration Designer). From those three, do you have a favorite for our home, or would you recommend a different shade altogether? We’re open to your suggestions!
Some considerations…
— We live in NE Ohio, where the winters are harsh with lots of snow and the summers are very hot. Our home faces east, and we don’t get much shade from the trees until later in the day. We’d prefer a shingle that’s a happy balance between light and dark.
— The shingle should have just the right amount of dimension and variation in color. Something that doesn’t appear too flat from the curb, but also doesn’t look so busy that the roof overwhelms the house.
— In the next couple years, we intend to update the front of the garage with beige stonework (lower half) and “cedar” shanks/shingles (upper half; color TBD), as well as repaint the horizontal siding (light sage color) and shutters/door/trim (colors TBD). Whichever shingle we do select would need to complement the current appearance of our house, as well as not clash with these future updates.

I've updated my original post to include some swatches and photos from the Owens Corning website. When you get a chance, you can also look at the link I attached to view the rest of the available colors. From those, maybe Summer Harvest?
