Seemingly yes, though on a dimmer it would be ok! I just do not care for too “warm“ of lighting for this room.

4000K is a color, not an amount of light.

Light is measured in lumens.

As stated above, i am interested in finding a less warm color- thus the question about kelvins.

Probably not available in incandescent bulbs with bases that fit chandeliers. The higher the wattage for incandescent bulbs, the higher the color temperature. But when you dim them, you reduce the wattage, therefore the color temperature drops.

Alternatives: add other lamps in the room with "cool white" LED bulbs, add skylights or solatubes.

Thank you for the reply @apple_pie_order. I may need to move into the tech field to invent what i am looking for! We use smart bulbs, which I absolutely love, for all lamps- was just hopeful for the chandelier:)

what are you hoping for in "not LED"? I mean, incandescent bulbs are being phased out. I don't think halogens come in chandelier sizes. there are specialty bulb places that give you lots of options, but you probably need to try a few different ones and order a bunch of your favorite. (also be sure that your dimmer has been updated to an LED-compatible model if you end up with LED bulbs -- the performance is different!)

The 4000K chandelier bulbs that @acm found are much less expensive than the Cree bulbs I did. You mentioned that all your bulbs were "smart bulbs". The Cree bulbs are tunable and "smart" (e.g.., controllable via Alexa) while the @acm bulbs are not. However those features add substantially to the price.

Keep in mind the intent of a chandelier bulb is to duplicate 'candlelight', which is a warm light. The lights from a chandelier are not to perform brain surgery. They are to set a mood.
