It depends on the pendants and IMO pendant lighting in a kitchen eeds to light the island not the ceiling and who decided those huge pot lights were a choice IMO the biggest should be 4" all LED bulbs 4000K I would do smaller good lighting pendants the the spacing is fine.

Thank you, both. We just settled on this coastal home and as you can see, nothing is in its place yet! I haven’t ordered lighting yet, but thinking 14-16” pendants would work. Do you think 16” is too wide? The island is 10.3’ long.

Yes because you have three they do not need to be giant, in fact I would probably go 10-14 max.

Get a beach ball or cut out a piece of card board in a few shapes and size you like I think you will be surprised at how large 14 inches is in a solid state.

Thanks for posting your suggestions! Looking for something without glass or shades. Open and clean looking. THinking oval or round might be nice considering kitchens are so geometric ...square cabinets, rectangular island. Open to suggestions. Thank you, everyone!

Thx, Beverly. The rough-ins are 32 inches center to center so the spacing between the lighting would not be 30 to 32”. It will be less. Do you still think 32 inch centers on an island this size is good spacing? I’m thinking 12 to 14 inch wide pendants is the maximum I should go. Just wondering if they will be too small considering this oversized island.
