Bathroom Renovation Inputs

last modified: 4 years ago

It is finally time for the first renovation in our first home, also first Renovation I have to plan and get executed. So excited & also confused. 😁
We don't plan to change the layout of the bathroom as such. Floors and the tiles on countertop & shower are the items that need to be upgraded.
Flooring Requirements and Choices
1. My young kids use master bathroom frequently and splash water around more often than not. So I am guessing tiles are a better choice than laminate. Thought?
2. If tiles is the way we go, I hate grout lines and I hate cleaning grout lines. So for flooring I would like something which has minimal grout lines like really large tiles with thinnest and most seamless grout. What are my options for the same?
Shower choices
1. I love the tile choices I found here and on pinterest but again grout lines are my arch nemesis. Something easy to clean but aesthetic is my preference.
2. Replace the current shower glass with seamless shower glassdoors.
Countertops
1. Light color prefabricated integrated vanity countertop are my preference for quick easy cleaning.Any ideas on what can be done with space between the two sinks? There is A floor vent there so we haven't put any furniture or shelving over it. We keep our laundry hampers there currently. I would prefer something covered but because of the vent, not sure what can be done. Do you guys think putting one continuous countertop from end to end and leaving the current gap underneath as is, will be a good idea?
