Picking Paint & Matching Irish Cream Cabinets

We are trying to figure out what color white would go best with our Medallion Irish Cream Upper cabinets. I was hoping yo use Sherwin Williams Pure White, but am worried it will make the cabinets look yellow. Would the SW Shoji White be better in the kitchen? Also unsure what to use on the trim.

If we go with a more cream white in the kitchens can I use the SW Pure White in other rooms? Help!

You might think about working with a color consultant. There are way more elements to consider, and it’s a lot more complicated than you think! I have a terrific designer who does this if you want a referral.

Lighting plays a huge part and ideally, all your kitchen lighting (including undercab!!!) should be LED 4000K. Is it possible to chose wall colour and backsplash after your cabinets and counters are installed? Consider the visual plane ~ cabinets, backsplash and walls are on the vertical plane and will be seen as one element by the eye.

Is your home open plan? If you're able to post a floorplan to show how your kitchen relates to the rest of your space that would be helpful.

Our house flooded and was a full gut job… trying to put it back together. Here are some pics and video of the floor plan and the layout of the kitchen.

I think painting will happen before the new cabinets are installed. I was going to hold off on the backsplash so I could get a better view once we’re in there.

Sorry, I thought it’d post video. This may be better.

It is likely that Pure White will make the cabinets look yellow. If you want to decide this soon, get a sample from Samplize.com of both the colors you're considering. Colors look different depending on the quality of light in the room, so if you were to use Shoji White in the kitchen it will look different in the adjacent rooms because they have windows on other sides of the house. If you really like Pure White and it doesn't work with the cabinets maybe you should choose a different cabinet color. You're probably buying all new furniture, so you should be thinking about the whole first floor color scheme. Engaging a color consultant does sound like a good idea.

I'm sorry this happened to you - you must have lost a lot of your possessions.

Medallion Irish Cream Upper cabinets. I was hoping yo use Sherwin Williams Pure White, but am worried it will make the cabinets look yellow.

The best - and really only way - to estimate that color relationship is to measure the cabinet color with a Color Muse or Spectro 1 Pro and compare those data values to the color data values for Pure White. Specifically, we want to make sure the cabinets have more Chroma than Pure White's 0.44.

Update: looks like the cabinets are more greige. See the cabinet sample with sherwin williams paint swatches.
