For now the room looks empty. Maybe start filling it in with your stuff, and leave the space open for now and see what fits or works there.

IMO all the uppers should be removed or you add another to the side of the beam. Post a to scale floor plan of this kitchen please IMO who ever designed this was not a KD but a cabinet salesperson trying to get rid of dated lower cabinets since now all drawers are what you want not getting down on hands and knees to hut for stuff. The drawers you do have cannot possibly hold pots and pans .It could be the angle of the pic but I do not see enough space for a hood above the range either

I would have looked into getting rid of that beam so you would have more continuous upper cabs. Assuming it is support beam, and cost would have been prohibitive to remove, I would have done no uppers or floating shelves instead. Some of those uppers look tiny and not very functional - esp around stove. Also, why a bunch of doors on bottom cabs? Full extension drawers are what you needed.
I recognize it may be too late to rip it all out and start again so for that blank space I would just hang a piece of art. Something that you love…

Working around outdoor window placement can be a challenge and plans on paper sometimes translate into a few design dilemmas. Looks like a lovely, large kitchen. If you could live without the upper cabinets… it would show at it’s best… but that’s not real life function for most families. As you live in the space, decor and plants will most likely fill in some of the gaps.

I would wait until everything is done, you get everything situated, and see what your needs are.

You could do art, shelf, a pretty sconce, anything.

Or you might decide to leave it as open space.

Obviously, you don’t have room for some of the ideas above, just showing general ideas. Me, I’d probably just want a cool sconce, for looks and function.

I would take down all three uppers and just do shelves.

Replace the one cabinet with open shelves.

Will you be adding shades or blinds to the windows? If yes, that will add some color. Begin to live in the space and you’ll find the right thing— art, plant, fruit

or whatever.

Agree with Beverly, the one cabinet looks odd, but the open shelves look great!

Depends on what you need. What are you using the countertop for? The function of the countertop will inform what you add to the wall. Maybe only artwork will be needed.

Thanks for the pics! I will def hold off and see how we move into the space, but liking the floating wooden shelves idea. I'm thinking that might be a coffee bar area, so can think about that.

It would look best to me with another cabinet there. If you don't want to do that, then I'd take down the cabinet that is there and put shelving all the way across in that space. (This coming from a person who hates open shelving.)

Since there's an electrical receptacle right under the cabinet I would put up a TV mount that you can attach a tablet to. You can have quick reference to recipes, music, podcasts, audio books, and set the screensaver as a calendar clock. Make sure the top bevel is a couple inches below eye level of whoever will be the main user. That way you don't get neck strain from using it.

Above it would be a great place for a spice rack.

Two wooden shelves will work perfectly. You don’t need a cabinet and don’t need to start fooling around with the beam. Your kitchen is lovely.

I would wait and see how it all functions once you're in, but my vote would be framed art. It's very pretty so far.
