Also known as "lily of the valley shrub". But other than being a living plant, it of course is not remotely related to Convallaria majalis. Fun note: Convallaria is in the asparagus family; Pieris is in the heath family.

Pieris are great shrubs- people around here forget to use them. I'm forever going shopping with friends to help them choose plants, and to folks in my area the word 'evergreen' means conifers. They are hardly even aware that broadleaved evergreens exist and can be used in place of the gazillion boxwoods, "foundation" yews, and other more old timey looks the homes around here cling to.
