Some prune advice ? Lotsa rubbing....going to happen if I leave it alone.

New Standards. Graft points - stems are facing not upwards but *sideways*. Which I suppose you want since you want that get the framework wide'ish. I suppose in time these stems may Lean More Vert than Sideways as it directs towards the sun ?

Many small stems are thin but have shoots. All new growth from the sideway shoots are going VERT. Lotsa rubbing going on...across the exisiting canes.

I don't think I should remove anything as I want leaves to feed these thin and short stems I have on the standard - However, new shoots will definately be rubbing here and there .

What would you do. Leave it alone for it's 1st year. Remove any new shoots that are rubbing. Or leave it alone and pray the new shoots wont hurt the existing stems
