Another vote for keeping the cabinets and changing the multi tiered counters. Slab wood doors are trending in and shaker are (kind of) trending out. Appliance garages are also not really done much anymore as they waste space and tend to get wrecked by water and wear.

Agreed. And I would do a white quartz counter.

If you raise your cabinets it will be hard to reach and if you lower them you'll lose counter space. I agree the two level countertop is the most dated feature so replacing the countertop (make it one level) would be a good investment and a lighter color would help this smaller size kitchen look a little bigger.

So…you are going to remove the counter and do what with it while they remove and replace your cabinets? What will you do if its damaged?

I agree with everyone above. Keep cabinets; level the counters at the peninsula. Get lighter colored quartz or quartzite counters. Replace pendants with something more "glam" if that's your style.

Im so surprised! Both the color and shape of the cabinets feel so out of date to me. I also want to extend to ceiling for extra storage for the occasional use items and free up space below where theyre currently stored. You’ve all convinced me to replace the countertops though and level the peninsula. Pretty sure Ill still replace cabinet doors though, the color and shape just arent doing it for me.

I assume you are just changing out the doors and adding additional cabinets above to match. Option would be to do black lowers and white uppers. White will make the kitchen appear larger and the black will be the glamour look you desire. Lowering the divider will open up the kitchen even more.

Does that flooring run throughout the condo? If so, I would lighten the grout lines. Add under cabinet lighting, new hardware, new backsplash and countertop and lights. Clean and treat the doors you hate so as to freshen them up. I doubt you'll want to get on a ladder to reach high cabinets. You'll get better accessible storage out of more drawers.
