Entry door: Metal and Wood combo

last modified: 4 years ago

I would like to know about the quality of CBW WINDOWS & DOORS when it comes to humidity, bending and warping, air tightness, insulation. Please share your experience about this manufacturer. https://cbw-doors.com/

My order of preference:

  1. First preference is low maintenance and good quality.
  2. Second preference is good looks.
  3. Material (Wood, Glass, Fiberglass Metal, etc)
  4. Lower total cost for the entire door + sidelight setup around $5000 to $7000. (can stretch up to $9000 if I really like it)

Will a combo of wood and metal look good for a traditional colonial house?

About my house location and style:

  1. South facing house with similar porch as in attached image (3 feet deep 9 feet wide) and an additional 1.5 feet overhang in that area. (so total 4.5 feet of cover)
  2. I am building a new house in lower Fairfield county, CT (Near NYC and closer to long island sound water and high humidity).
  3. Some aspects of the inside are modern ( - Like open concept living + dining + kitchen - The door and windows in the back of the house are also more towards modern touch)

What do you think about this door for a traditional colonial house (image attached)
