Could it be water pipes?

Do you have any automatic lights-on-off switches? If so could be a relay. Doesn't sound electrical from what you describe though.

We don’t have any automatic lights-on-off switches. As far as water pipes, I have no idea. How do you figure that out?

We’ve had knocking house pipes. Sometimes it’s nothing more than air in the line or needed insulation. Google some videos perhaps some can demo a similar sound to your noise and solve your mystery sound 🤞

Do you have vinyl siding. Is there certain time of the day it happens? Mine pops during the summer in the evening when it cools down. It just does it in my bedroom. My sunroom i believe is aluminum and it pops when heating up and cooling down.

Is there a pattern to the popping? Evening time only? Hourly? Random? Loud? Consistent sound? Did it start with the changes to your lights you described? Could be so many things - from an animal (unlikely), hot/cold changes, pipes. You could buy an endoscope to see inside the wall with a small hole (fairly cheap on Amazon). If you still feel it's electrical you could turn off a breaker and see if it goes away (smart move getting it checked BTW) or unscrew a few lights at a time if it started with these. Run the water when it occurs to see if the pipes are the cause. Might keep a log to see if there's a pattern to it like when some other event in the house happens.

Alan, the popping does seem to happen mostly later in the day and into night. It is random and loud enough we’re aware of it; however there are times it’s not as loud. We’re in southern Florida so it remains hot. As far as it starting when we changed the lights, I’m not completely sure. I think I’ll need to keep a long and in the evening try to record it so if I have someone back out, they’ll at least know what we hear.

HVAC metal ducts? Metal roof?
