Thank you all! Yes was definitely thinking about switching the crib to the other wall, just wasn't sure if it'd be weird to have it there since it's not what you see in front of you when you walk in, but I think you all answered that for me :)

Lots of options for that sweet room! I would think about a fabulous whimsical wallpaper if it were me with the background color the same as the wall color so the transition is lower contrast - I feel like the room needs some texture and softness - I would be tempted to do bamboo blinds and white linen panels on the windows (or another color) - maybe a fun navy area rug to break up the beige broadloom?

If you like the idea of wallpaper for your feature wall but not the expense, you might want to consider a wall stencil.

I always mention lightweight canvas art and curtains to change a look, because I don't like to wp or paint... but a good idea.

The short wall right of where you're standing for the photo would be good. I prefer accent walls to be those with no other architectural features.

I would plan for a toddler room and put the crib where the toddler bed will be. Because once you actually have the baby, you will not have time to redesign as he gets older. Blink and he will be walking. So think about toy and clothing storage that is appropriate for a toddler (who is into everything), bedtime stories, playing with toys on the floor, etc. You toddler will pull on curtains. You can put up some cute, inexpensive art that you can change out easily as he gets older, from baby to young boy.

@ShadyWillowFarm thank you, that's actually what we ended up doing! We're going to do the accent wall on the wall that the dresser is currently on and then move his crib there (and eventually bed when he's older). I think it'll make more sense in the long run. Appreciate your input :)

Switching crib and changer is good idea. This way you can peek in and not be seen. Agree, kiddos will pull on curtains.

You might try looking at different paint colors and wallpapers which might work well in your space. Here are few ideas from some designs of ours.
