Yes I would go for it.

FP actually does not look bad for room. More over if you hang big wall art above the mantel, you would not care how it looks any more.

White vaulted ceiling. You could only change the mantle on the fireplace to match the other elements (gold/brass in fireplace surround and lighting), but the art looks great! Don't paint the brick, because it already ties into the room and surrounding color/decor. Then your art becomes the focal point.

IMO it depends on the color you are using on the walls I think all one color with such a light wall color would be a much nicer look. Please make sure all your lighting is LED 4000K with the new wall collor and I hope you test that in that space before moving forward it is quite blue based and I find blues difficult to keep from looking babyblue often. I would not choose wall color before at least showing us your furniture since that has a huge effect on wall color as does the lighting .I see no benefit to 2 different whites in that space at all.

We might suggest painting the vaulted ceiling the same color as the rest of the ceiling. It will make it look more uniform.
