It's common for cucumber leaves to wilt a bit in hot afternoon sun especially the vines furthest from the stem of the plant. The plant just can't pump enough moisture to the outer most parts of the plant to overcome the transpiration taking place on a hot, sunny day. The plants should rebound overnight.

If you can provide some shade during the hottest part of the day it should help some. As long as they get some direct sun during the morning they should produce fine.

Judy did you have a cucumber beetle problem last season? If so, their eggs hatch in the soil and feed on plant roots before becoming adults we usually deal with above ground. That is just one of many causes of wilting leaves, not a lot you can do about it other than wait until you see them on the top of the plants.

Not sure where you're located, but it's getting so intensely hot and humid here in west central FL, shade cloth would not likely cause any problems, since it's getting a bit late for cukes anyway.

We're already in the 90s here with heat index at 100F.

Very normal and a good thing. I have had some severe wilting where I was sure the plant was dead. Many veggies do it. Tomatoes do it often.

daninthedirt, where do you get seeds for Armenian cukes? Will they climb?

You can get them just about anywhere. Harris, Johnny's, Baker Creek, etc. etc. Just Google them. You can get varieties that are darker skinned, a little more like regular cucumbers, and also ones that are lighter colored. They have tentacles that will try to climb, and want to grab on to anything. I just let them sprawl on the ground. The fruits grow FAST. I had a couple a few days ago that I figured would be ready to pick in a week. They were plumped up and ready to go in two days. If they aren't watered well, they don't seem to wilt easily, but productivity may be reduced.
