Read about piano placement - Should not be near a window or heat source, Clam shell toward room and player facing into the room. Sometimes challenging to find an appropriate space. You can get a cover to protect it from the window, but not the most beautiful aesthetic.

Jennifer is correct and so first find that perfect spot for the piano then come back for help.I agree a to scale plan always when asking for furniture placement. BTW when taking pics please do not use realtor type pics they give a very distorted view of spaces.I am assumong this is ababy grand and how often is it played ?

Am I the only person who finds moving a grand piano kind of challenging? :)

Do you use the FP? Is the window modern and the wall insulated? Does it get direct sun? Then maybe move it. (You and your army!)

The photos are pretty distorted. I'd probably try turning the sofa to line up with the wall and doing a traditional layout, with the piano (where it is now) taking the place of a big chair.

We also need more information -- is this primarily a piano-listening room, which might need a reading nook in one corner, or is this your main living room, which needs the piano to coexist with a seating area, TV, and/or other living functions? Those aspects radically alter the advice I'd give!!

That sofa on the diagonal is not working for this room. Place it in front of the wall and add a lounge chair & coffee table.

IMO no reply gets no more help. BTW piano have rollers for moving and I think this is just a babygrand but how do we know.

I think I would be great to add some bright color to this room. Flowers art would be a good fit in my opinion. The wall that is on the opposite side of the piano seems to be rather empty. What if these two artworks are put up?

If you or a member of your family is a pianist, you must present that beautiful piece appropriately.

Rule of thumb, place your largest piece of furniture first. In your case you have to place the piano first because it is more important than the sofa and right now, the piano is too close to the windows and fireplace.

Move it to the back, solid wall (grand piano should stand against a solid wall); then make it your focal wall. Paint the wall black.

Now experiment with the rest of your furniture placement. Start with the next larger piece, the sofa. Try it across from the fireplace.

All other furniture is incidental. Place where they fit.

You might look at placing the piano near an interior wall. Piano's shouldn't be near windows or heat. Here is what we did in a room for a client. Perhaps look at getting rid of the couch and looking for something smaller to work better in the room.
