You're going to have a fabulously gorgeous kitchen. Those counters are awesome. Very nice choice. I love the herringbone very much.....but I worry that the sample you have has too much colour variation with your counters. With that in mind I went over to the Tilebar site to see what else they have in herringbone. Lots of choices there.....

This tile comes in many colours - I don't know if this is the right blue for your space but this one always jumps out at me. Love it and the bit of ombre colouring adds some interest. Not too much colour variation but enough that it isn't just a monotone wall of tile.

I like this mini herringbone with smaller individual tiles doubled up. Really nice. And a light grey grout with this would work with your space.

If you want the marble look that you've got in your sample then maybe choose a different one that is more white, less colour variation than the one you're showing.

There are other shapes you could consider instead of just a plain subway (and if you do choose subway choose something more like 2 X 10 or 3 X 12, instead of the standard 3 X6)

These are also from Tilebar. A few different shapes and these come in several colours as well. It is worth ordering samples (5 for $5) and seeing them in your space.

Here is your herringbone tile under the cabinets. It would not be my choice

This smaller mosaic herringbone is brighter in appearance and IMO would be a better selection for your kitchen.

If I were going to use Subway Tile, I would not select the narrow style you have as a sample. I would select the standard 3x6 size and have it installed in the layout you see below.

Following because my countertops look just like yours! But we only have half the kitchen done, so I’m still in the pondering stage as far as backsplash goes. So far my favorite has been a marble subway with very little veining (might have been thassos marble). I have a lot of other things going on so I’ll be trying to keep my backsplash on the boring side :)

I think the gray is more elegant …will allow the counter to be what it is …without competition..the white is safer…non competing..

I'm rebuilding after a bad house fire & my husband was Injured badly so I haven't been thinking too straight but I need to get our house ready ! Everything is through insurance so I have no time to waste! They want answers for my floors now& I have no clue what I'm doing ? I have redoak hardwood's Any color suggestions

Your counter is so gogeous! I would not do a pattern in the backsplash at all, but something that will read as a solid color overall, be it porcelain or glass. As much as I love blue, I probably wouldnt try to use it-too difficult to get blues to coordinate. I would try a darker color from your stone in porcelain - maybe a subway or 4-6” square with matching grout so no pattern stands out. See what you think of that.

I also love the current color of your floors and would leave them that color.

The “ safer”white would be my choice…so changing wall color will be easier in the future…..as i am not in favor of the gray walls that are so over used these days…and also think it will reflect the natural light a little more …. to brighten up the space…
