Did you intend to post a photo? If so, it didn't show up. The description alone is just too vague to make a stab at an ID. If I had to make a wild guess, not knowing where you are (another thing that helps with IDs), I'd say (without any certainty at all, lol) Juniperus virginiana, Eastern red cedar seedlings.

Where are you located? These conifers do not make good neighbors. When mature, they aren't very attractive looking and worst of all they are a host plant for Cedar Apple rust.

Do your neighbors a favor and plant something useful in its place.

There are no apple trees around to be rusted, so I think I'll let it grow, In my yard, the more berries for birds, the better. Thanks to all who replied.

Virginia juniper likes & needs sun, so you might want to clear some of the competition, or transplant it to a sunnier spot. In some situations they can make an attractive tree. **Credit to another gardenweb poster -- can't remember who.

if you happen to drive the highways of SE MI ... you will see millions of these nightmare plants lining the roadsides ... also.. you will see hundreds if you visit my 5 acres ... i hate them ...

if you are down south.. the are native.. and the basis of the cedar chips.. bark and wood for fencing .. split rail.etc ...

over my decades.. i have learned.. THE HARD WAY ... not to really encourage trees and shrubs.. that gratuitously seed themselves into your yard .. sooner. or later.. they will come of age.. and fill your yard with the nightmare..
