Hi Cheryl, depends on costs, but I think you can make it woek without changing the colour of sofa altogether. Why not play with the colour of the cushions and rug to link it together?

Thanks - did try that, added cream cushions and an ochre cushion but the grey just looks drab next to this bold colour now

Previously had an indigo rug but with the terracotta curtains it was all a bit much

I would be prepared to recover the sofa but need to be sure its not overkill of such a bold colour

Yes I think grey with cream doesn’t work, you are right. But what would another ochre sofa look like do you think? No grey in sight! Going for more of a Caravane look (that’s where it’s from).

It's almost like you need to follow a direction. Two ochre sofas may be too strong in a single colour, if so then need to tone-down the painting ans curtain.

How would you describe a caravane look in your view, woody cotton or American 60's 70's

An olive/bronze colour like the throw would look lovely. Caravane is such a great shop.

Reupholstering a sofa costs as much as a new one. I had one of mine recovered and when it arrived I didn’t like it and I chose the fabric! Lots of lovely ideas on here.

Maybe start with blue cushions and then take a little more risks. I am a painter and if the artwork in the wall is not too valuable maybe you can experiment colour there too, gently

The two sofa colours do go together they just need linking through a bit more if you feel the contrast is too extreme. How about finding a patterned throw that links all the room colours and using it on the grey sofa instead of the cream one? Is it possible to paint the walls a different colour maybe a greige to create a more cosy/ moody vibe.

I think it could look great (yellow and grey being a classic combo) if you link the two together with cushions/throws. Predominately grey on the ochre sofa and predominantly ochre on the grey sofa with prints that maybe have both the grey and ochre. Any excuse to buy new cushions should always be embraced!
