I have a bad slug problem so he is my new buddy!

No poisons or sprays. They will kill the toad. Keep everything organic, please.

I get too paranoid with any kind of pesticides and sprays so he will be safe. 😉. I actually put a small clay saucer of water out there and a pot on its side to try to encourage him to stay

Luckily we have Loads of toads here, and a few small frogs too. I have to be careful when digging in the garden during early Spring as these little sneakers are still in hibernation mode just below the surface. It's difficult not to uncover them but when I do I'll gently transfer the still dazed & sleepy critter to a shady spot under a half clay pot or similar location. All summer long it's great to see the toads lurking about the gardens under the various vegetable leaves feasting on the bugs.

Re toad safety, pay attention to real poisons and don't just think "organic". Salt is a real toad killer. Citric acid (e.g. lemon juice) as well.
