Looked up salix caprea pendula and I think that may be it. It wasn't very tall but the trunk was very bent and it was hanging over the border by several feet. Thanks everyone!

Mine needs trimming right now and in the spring it gets the furry buds. I love this tree.

but in this case.. it nails the willow ID ... dime a dozen at the nurseries.. well. not a dime anymore ..

dont miss the point.. it was probably grafted onto understock that was not weeping... if the roots were weeping.. you wouldnt need the graft .. eh???

so you are left with an aggressive growing willow .. probably too close to the house ... it probably has to go ..

and.. if you cut a tree down.. or trim it down.. it comes back as a shrub.. until you properly prune it back into tree form.. this usually involves.. at a minimum.. removing many extra trunks until you are back to a manageable number of trunks ... for its location ...

if this does happen to be right outside the door.. imo.. just get rid of it ...
