Since it is in a garage, which I assume will remain a garage, I would not do a lot beyond what you have there. You have some good basics-nice shelves with whimsical things to give it interest. What would go a long way to making it more appealing would be to clean that area up. It looks pretty junky. Just storing things would make it much less stressful to be around. For a garage laundry area, it does not look bad at all-it just needs some clean-up.

Decluttering before decorating is a good mantra to have. Looks as if you have multiples of the same washing products, so downsize those. Why do you need so many kinds of detergents? Stick with a few basics like original Tide, Woolite Dark, and Woolite for Delicates. Your brands may vary but you only need three. Don't use fabric softeners. Buy the biggest sized detergents that fit into cabinets. Keep the desktop clear to use for folding laundry into your basket inside kneehole of the desk.

--People are always selling or offering for free old kitchen cabinets. Buy some uppers and hang them across the left side of the wall. Paint them and existing cabinets a pretty color like blue with pretty hardware. Keep ALL your cleaning products in the cabinets at ALL times.

--Hang a shower or curtain rod on curtain rod holders to hang laundry. Run the rod from the newly painted cabinets to the end the left wall

--Make/buy a curtain to hang on a curtain rod to cover the space where your laundry basket is.

--Paint the floor if it's grungy or add a colorful indoor-outdoor rug to cheer things up.

For the walls in your area (but not over the machines), look into the slat wall systems. That will help you get all the stuff off the floor.

Ours is a different brand, but it has actual hanging rectangular baskets, and because it's modular, it is easy to buy new hooks, or different kinds of hooks. We store a huge amount stuff on our slat wall.

Agree that you need more upper cabinets. I like cabinets with doors that close, so that you can't see the junk. You can get a rolling cart or better yet, a cabinet, for underneath the "desk" area and that under-used space.

Also, I live in SoCal where everyone uses their garage for everything except putting their cars. Lots of people paint the walls, hang artwork (or surfboards, which I refer to as "wall art"), and generally pretty up the space.

Unfortunately I was in the middle of getting rid of all that crap stuff you guys see on the black counter space things we don't need in our house anymore it feels good to toss them and as far as the door you guys see that is going to be tossed out as well it just a replacement we finished. The area about the counter and also the washer ingredients area is what's was kinda bland to me.

This is a nice space with a touch of fun. Would you please show another photo after the extra stuff has been removed and the "keep" items are back in place?
