New railings are the actual answer but I agree they can be done any time so concentrate on the other issues I do not find them all that bad with the decor Isee . I honestly do not like the stick on tread mats .

If you contract out replacing the railing you will be amazed by how expensive it is. The reason is that it is fairly difficult to do right. My husband is an expert DIYer and just replaced railing exactly like that on a balcony. 14' with a turn - took him a long time and he was surprised by the complexity. You have a lot more area to do and a couple turns. At least yours is the same color as your floors and stairs, so no reason not to leave it alone.

I’d leave it. I think it fits with your space and decor. Your bench and plant (and floor) help to make it blend and for the space to appear more current. Decor can do a lot with certain circumstances IMO.

My immediate thought was also to leave it alone. It works with what it there, and if you make a change it will likely precipitate MANY changes.

Leave them! My parents had a similar stairs in their modern home in the 70’s. It was featured in Architectural Digest! Embrace them.
