@Jenson I feel like the best way to describe the difference is that the Q27 is a bit more bouncy than the Q31. So I sink in a bit more, like there is less stuffing.

Does Q31 still feel comfortable enough to lounge? Debating between Q27 and Q31.

I have the Q27 and Q31 and enjoy both of them. The Q27 is the standard 110” Burke and the Q31 was a custom 2 cushion 110” Burke with a reduced seat depth. The Q27 is a soft, loungey type sofa where you sit deep in the couch. Many people, especially shorter or older use a lumbar pillow for support. The Q31 is firm, you’re more “on” the couch than “in” the couch. With the seat depth shortened a couple of inches, most people can sit back without a pillow and reach the floor and have support. The Q31 seems like it doesn’t need to be fluffed and doesn’t really indent whereas the Q27 needs to be more fluffed but still doesn’t indent. The back cushions should be fluffed to maintain shape or it’ll look relaxed. This is after my 80lb dog lounges all day on the couch. But both are great.

@L Baker, sorry for the late reply. For me, I feel like the Q31 is great for lounging and I got that firmness in anticipation of it wearing out a bit in the future. I plan on keeping it for a long time.

Does anyone have the Burke sofa paired with Providence chairs?

Not yet, but I actually want the Providence chair in the leather as shown on their website! I personally think it would look great with the Burke!

I think so too, but don’t want to make an expensive mistake! I love how it looks in leather and was planning on getting the Burke in Quartz but am wondering if the chairs would look better if sofa was in velvet. We currently have a sofa in velvet and was wanting a change.

I think it would look great with quartz. That’s what I have, but I’m not an interior designer by any means 😂.

I think it would be an excellent match with enough contrast to stand out.

For those who have the Burke, do you feel the back cushion is tall enough and provides good support?

In some photos the back cushion looks very upright and in others it seems to be at an angle. Does the low back of the sofa provide enough height and support so the back cushion stays in place when leaning back on it or does it tend to slide down?

Jenson-I do. The cushions stay in place.

@Jenson The back cushions do not slide down. Mine stay where I put them. It's not necessary, but I do rotate and fluff them once a week.

Ann-I have been rotating and fluffing mine as well!

@Jenson I have had my Burke for a few weeks and do wish it had a higher back for support. The back cushions can be adjusted to sit at whatever angle you would like, but won’t slide around otherwise.

I’m still trying to decide between the Q27 vs Q31 cushions. I’m 220lbs. I'd prefer sitting on the couch, not in.

Does anyone who purchased the Q27 wish it were firmer?

For those who have both the Q27 and Q31, do you have a preference of one over the other?

As anyone ordered decorative throw pillows from Mantle to go with their sofa?

I got the Burke 100” sofa with the Q27 cushion upgrade from Mantle Furniture about a year ago, and it’s been amazing. Jess, the customer service rep, was super helpful and friendly, making the whole process easy. Delivery scheduling was a headache, but the delivery crew themselves were professional and courteous.

The sofa is Brushed Velvet in ash, which I picked because of its spill resistance. We have 3 cats, and even though I was worried about the fabric with their claws, it’s held up perfectly—no scratches or spills at all! The cats love the sofa, and because the fabric doesn’t feel great for scratching (unlike a rug), they leave it alone, so it’s still in fantastic condition. When we first got it I thought it looked overly stuffed, but it’s held up so well and maybe even still looks that way!

We opted for an ottoman instead of a sectional, so we can move it around and use it like a sectional when we want. This setup has been super flexible and fits our needs perfectly. The cushions are just the right mix of firm and comfy, making it perfect for lounging or having friends over. I do think the back is short but I rarely sit up in it, I’m usually lounging after work and it’s ideal. If you do not have A/C, the brushed velvet will definitely feel warm in the summer months.

The wood legs in cashew add a nice touch and overall, the sofa looks great in our living room. I’m really happy with this purchase and would recommend Mantle Furniture to anyone looking for a new couch. I have included some images from the day of delivery, and one image for @Jenson; I’m 220lbs and this image was today, the back cushion is still firm.

Has anyone ordered the laney slipcover sofa? I love the look of it and I have pets so the idea of being able to wash the covers easily is encouraging. However, I also love the burke and the modular sofa as well so any opinions, thoughts, etc would be much appreciated!

Emily, I recommend calling them for confirmation. Their customer service is fantastic. They only recently put the cushion upgrade on the website.

Yes, the comfort firm is the 27, i just ordered an ottoman 2 days ago to match my sofa and thats how it is listed on the customization page. FWIW their 15% off sale ends today. That tipped the scale for me to get the ottoman. I’m still debating a matching chair.

@HU-630942479 Do you happen to know how tall the legs are on your Burke? I can’t find it on the website. My husband really wants a couch that our Roomba can fit underneath to vacuum daily. I had ruled out Mantle due to our budget and was about to pull the trigger on a Dreamsofa. Something made me look at Mantle again and with their current sale we could get a 90” Burke or Ruby within budget vs. the 93” Dreamsofa - but I have to order today! Id rather support Mantle bc we are located in the Carolinas and I’ve had great experience with their customer service.

The lowest spot that I just measured on mine was 3” but that was because of a small upholstery bump underneath. Most of it measures around 3.25”

The roomba will not fit on the base model as far as I recall. But they will customize anything, and can build longer legs.

Just a FYI to anyone considering an ottoman. It took me a year and a 15% off code to convince myself to get an ottoman for my Burke and it is awesome. There is more than enough room for me and my wife to stretch out for movie night (which is almost every night) and it really transforms an already excellent sofa.

I’ve had my Burke sofa and Providence chairs for 2 weeks now and can say that I’m impressed with the quality and customer service. I ordered the 90 in Burke with small ottoman in quartz and the 2 chairs in the leather as shown on website. I have to be honest and say I had a little buyers remorse with the chairs at first. They were comfortable, but for whatever reason, I wasn’t getting the vibe I was hoping for. As time as gone on, I really like them. There was an issue with one of the arms having a noticeable seam that wasn’t straight, as well as a blotchy finish. Mantle is sending a new frame. I ordered the Burke with the Q27 cushions. They are firmer than I expected and am very glad I didn’t go with the 31. I think I would have been happier with the standard cushion. You definitely sit on the sofa, there is no sinking in feeling, which a wanted a little of. I am hoping, with time, they give a little. The back cushions are also firm and stick out, so the depth isn’t as deep as I’d like without removing them. I spent months going back and forth with this purchase. Would definitely buy from Mantle again. I have since purchased the matching pet throw since my dog loves the sofa and want to prevent unnecessary wear.

Has anyone lived with the luxe cushions for a bit? Trying to decide if I want to stay this route or go with their standard cushion. The luxe is cushiony but wondering if too soft over time. My SO had a down allergy or I’d just get that! Definitely limiting on quality sofas.

I can confirm Mantle has been great. We ordered the Laney sectional because I didn’t want to custom order out of the gates with no returns. As I suspected, it’s a little too tall all around for us but the 27” depth is great. Also not really a slipcover person and I want the crypton like we have on another couch but they offer those too even though they don’t call them that :)

They’re arranging pick up of the current one and the refund while I work on the design of the new one…they’ve been great so far!

I'm about to pull the trigger on the Burke. Does anyone regret the low back/low arms?

I don’t regret the low back or low arms. My husband commented that he wishes the back was a bit higher, but we needed a sofa that could fit through our door.

I’ve never wanted the couches to be any different. Having 2 different firmness and depth couches, I love that I can choose. I definitely sit on the standard depth and firmness Burke more, but I love them both. I’ve never needed more height and the pillows never lack support or move. I actually ordered custom covers for each cushion and the couch so I can remove them and wash and keep my couch pristine. I have 2 little kids and a giant dog so it was a must. However, I will say that the darker grey color I chose and fabric cleans really well.

I love my sofa still, a few years in. It's so comfortable and has really held up to every day usage. Also my cats do not like the material we happened to pick so there are no scratches either. The low arms do not bother me, however the back sometimes I do with was higher. I am 6' so I have to prop a throw pillow behind me. If I had the space and income I would probably also have a recliner chair, La-Z-Boy style for extended couch time. But the throw pillows work well.

I did it, I bought the 90in Burke and ottoman with the following specs

- switch to Ruby feet on both. I like the square looking feet, and this will lower the overall height by 2in which is perfect for us short people (5'4 and 5'8)

- woven fleece Granite color on both

- cashew color feet on both. They can do other colors too if you ask.

- turn ottoman into a storage ottoman

- extra firm Q31 cushions on both

Jess from customer service is also very helpful and responsive so I highly recommend reaching out to them. She sent me a lot of photos of colors and of real people sitting on the sofa so it helped a lot. She can also tell you a lot more details about each fabric types.

I think you’ll love it. I have woven fleece and it’s a great mix of soft but durable. The ottoman is great too.

I just received two 80 inch Ruby Sofas in the Beach woven fleece fabric. I ordered extra lumbar pillows in the velvet Paprika color. I upgraded one sofa to Spring down cushions and the other in Down Blend. They are the most comfortable sofas and the quality and build is perfection. The comments in this thread helped me make me decision since there was little information available on Mantle. The fabric looks grayish but in real life is definitely more a light sandy brown tone.

Hi I'm back to update everyone on my purchase!

The good:

- ordered on mar 12, received on April 8, faster than expected

- woven fleece fabric is a dream!

- we were so happy with our decision to change the ottoman to a storage ottoman. It has hinge, not just a top flopped on the bottom half. And so spacious!

- the ruby legs definitely lower the sofa to our ideal height

- Q31 cushions are amazing. Very supportive yet soft. I'm 110lbs and I still sink a little in, so not rock hard. I have 0 regrets.

The ok

- we didn't realize that the ottoman is 1in shorter than the sofa, this is our fault for not reading carefully. We would have asked to make them the same height.

- I find the back cushions a bit soft

- the arms are really low, I'm still getting used to this. Like I can't put my elbows on them comfortably. Not sure what the purpose of them is other than aesthetics. But I can lay down on the sofa and use the arms as pillows 😂

- my husband wished the back was higher. He's 5'8.

- one of the legs was damaged, but we contacted Mantle and they're sending a replacement. Their customer service is always amazing

Overall our minor complaints can be rectified with some firm throw pillows. Just when you dropped over $4k you'd want it to be perfect. It's not, but I'm hoping that it'll maintain supportive and comfortable for years to come because that's the most important to me.

I need to look at my ottoman tonight but it is very close to the same height as the cushions. I’m curious if a simple spacer under the legs would get it flush.

Question for anyone who has the Burke — can you confirm the actual sofa depth? I know the website says 38”, but I’ve found other companies can be a little off (for example, Ikea will say 38” deep but in store I measured it more like 36”).

Hiii does anyone the woven fleece fabric with pets? Thats the fabric I’m most drawn to, but it says its not pet friendly so I would be taking a gamble with the hair cling.
