Master Loft Rehab - Help!

Recently retired and ready for another rehab project, I purchased a modified A-Frame with water view from an older couple. These are the original owner’s pics so excuse the “stuff”. I take possession in a month. Master bed, bath, and study are the only areas upstairs. Existing layout has closed in stairs on the right with open rail / loft / study on the left. Behind that wall is a small 3/4 bath accessed through the master. Behind the door and wall on the right is the bed and closet areas. Currently the bed faces the back of the house away from the water, and it’s so tight you can’t fit a bench at the end of the bed. My thought is to remove the door and open the bedroom wall for water view. Remove the closets and reorient the head of the bed on that wall to create more depth space and giving view to the water. Extend the small bathroom into the open loft space and add closet. This is the best I came up with to maximize space without an addition. But I am stuck on the larger facade design of that entire wall / stairs / loft. Help!

Opening the bedroom wall for water view sounds cool, except not much view when you are sleeping and a lack of privacy and quiet from lower living area. Provide a scale drawing with measurements, doors, bath layout, etc. so the Houzz Pro contributers can give you some ideas.

Balcony / loft is east facing water. Only bedroom window faces the woods to the back of the house on the west.

I really need so ideas folks - just focus on the loft view from below. Open the stairwell and put modern black railings all the way across and down? What about the bedroom door? It looks so awkward

I know you probably don’t want to hear this, because it seems like you want to change things ASAP. However, it’s often suggested to live in your new space for a while before making big changes. Collect some pix from here or other sites and see what things you are drawn to. I know that I certainly feel that way, having lived in my house 2 months now.

Don't do anything for the first 6 months. Your thoughts might change once you're living in the space for a while.

Also you said you're retired and I'm assuming in good shape right now. How will you access that bedroom if something happens to you or your spouse?

I’ve remodeled 7 houses in the last 10 years - not my first rodeo - but am perplexed on this loft. I think the single door, open railing and enclosed stairs is ugly but not sure if I should open the entire thing and put in a solid pony wall for some privacy or maybe sliding panel walls. Thoughts?
