Innova manufactures different systems that require different installation. Contact mfgr and ask for a copy of installation recommendations for her model.

I'm really asking about the choice to have the hot air outlet blow right onto the air intake. No matter the size of the unit I think that would make the unit inefficient since it would be trying to pump heat into already-hot air.

You are correct in thinking it isn't good having discharge blowing into intake but other than chew the fat I don't know what you want us to do about it.

What I'm really looking for is an expert to tell me if the installation was done incorrectly. I can then tell the installer, with some authority, that he needs to repair the install.

So you figure if you tell the installer someone on a forum claims the installation is wrong he will do over and do it right this time?

Your concern is whether the intake and exhaust installation conform to the manufacturer's installation instructions. A photo number and a model no. would be helpful. You can also snap a photo and e-mail it to whatever group Innova has established for technical support in the U.S. along with your question.
