Benjamin Moore makes a pearl sheen, though their eggshell is, IMO, plenty of shine for a wall, especially if you want to mix it with a higher gloss trim. (I will say that I still prefer their Aura Bath & Spa for bathroom walls, though, even though it only comes in flat.)

I think, perhaps, Edith is looking for something that is actually a metallic...gently so. I haven't looked for paint like this in some years, but Ralph Lauren used to have some gorgeous things. Another way to achieve that would be an easy strie finish...using a pearl colored metallic as the top coat, run down the wall with a wallpaper brush. Really easy to do, and you won't have to repaint for 50 years....these glazes keep the walls looking good for a long time. Just make sure you are just going one tone darker than the base coat.

In a small space the light could reflect in a bad way with sheen on the walls . Maybe explain why this choice . I honestly cannot imagine how a metallic finish would be a good choice in a tiny space not to mention any imperfection on the wall will be magnified.

The bathroom is being enirely gutted. New walls, electrical, plumbing, etc it gets very little natural light because the window opens onto a carport. I was thinking of low-sheen (not metallic) as means to reflect light more

FWIW, I asked our local paint store to recommend a paint for our renovated closet, which is also a small space with a very small window, so we wanted to brighten it with the sheen. They recommended BM Ultra Spec in eggshell finish, which is what we used. It seems to work (though of course--it's a closet so half the walls are covered anyway!) The trim is BM Advance in Satin, and there's definitely a contrast between the two sheens, but the eggshell is noticeably shinier than the matte paint on the walls just outside the closet.

At some point, the answer is electricity.

Jan Moyer, I agree. that’s why we’re replacing the strip of bubble lights above the vanity with ceiling leds, as well as sconce lights.

There are pearl waxes that can be used to finish furniture and painted walls (it's a workout!) which are pretty subtle and add a bit of luster depending on the application, Annie Sloan makes a pearlescent glaze that can be added to paint and of course, a pearl topcoat on Venetian plaster can be adjusted to your taste for sheen level. I get your vision, let us know what you decide.

You don't need paint gleam with electricity : ) Think big mirrors, sconces, recessed light and tile will also matter. A carport means a roof beyond a window. Use the above.......worry less on paint. Put the shine in via those elements .
