Choosing fixture color for foyer

last modified: 4 years ago

I am choosing a light fixture for my foyer.

The foyer opens into a great room, which is also open to the kitchen/dining area.

Doorknobs and hinges are matte black.

The great room has a walnut ceiling fan with a brushed nickel downrod. Furniture/rug in great room will be camel/beiges/warm tones. The kitchen has two smaller brushed nickel pendant lights and polished nickel cabinet hardware, plus stainless steel appliances. Cabinets are bamboo. Floors are light white oak.

My dilemma is that the foyer fixture comes in silver and brass. It's a Morrocan pendant and while the look of the brass seems more authentic, I don't have any other gold/brass planned for the great room or kitchen area. The brass does lean to the warm furniture tones, but all non-black hardware in those other rooms is nickel.

Which would you choose?

p.s. please be kind in your comments
