I have Stormy Black from MT. They were AMAZING to deal with. Because I had had soapstone in my 1890 home in AL I wanted it again in my 1910 home here in VA. There wasn't anyone in the area that could/would do it. I contacted MT and they were so helpful and made the huge trip down and back to measure and we went up there to pick the stone and lay out the design on the slab and then they drove back and installed. AMAZING. Every single thing they did for me was top notch !! It has been 3 yrs I never get tired of touching and using my SS. I had then design and make a sink as well. They are terrific folks. I will use my phone to post pics in a minute. c

I never oil the Stormy Black it is so smooth and rich and has exquisite subtle veining with hints of green… I live that as you can see by my wall color. The stone is very hard and doesn’t scratch. I couldn’t be happier.

The cabinets are from Tedd Wood, one of the better semi-custom lines, made in PA. The wood is birch, in an Autumn stain. As the kitchen is 6.5 years old, I’m not sure that combo is available any longer.

We also used MT out of NJ (we are in CT). We selected the slab in person and they came here to template and install. They were fantastic to work wiith. We chose stormy black too. Very durable and looks the same as 7 years ago.

Curious if you pulled the trigger yet and picked one? We are using Bucks County Soapstone (just selected slabs) and while they seem great to work with, they are so backed up. It's delaying completion of our kitchen renovation by several weeks. Wish we could consider MT or GSS as options, but they are are little too far for us (southeast PA). I'm sure we will be happy in the end.

@Andrea Bowen we havent made a selection yet since we are still in the design stage. My first choice is going with MT if we do soapstone!
