I started growing Habanadas last year, which I like very much. They have an interesting life cycle. The start blooming here in April, and we have lots of ripe peppers in June and July. Then the plants settle down in August, with just foliage. Then around the end of August, BOOM!, there is a new flush of flowers, and by September, another load of peppers ripening. This happened last year, and I thought it was some strange aberration. Nope, happening again this year. The second flush is enormous. With four plants, I'm now looking at many HUNDREDS of peppers, about twice as many as in the first flush. Almost as many peppers as leaves. Maybe all Capsicum chinense do this? My Capsicum annums just produce straight through the summer.
