I have an area that needs multiple lights and the ceiling mount site sits 3 feet away from the junction box. There is no access above the ceiling, which is tongue & groove wood slats that I don't want to destroy.

I'm not sure how disc lights can accomplish this task. You have a picture for a suggestion?

WAC Lighting is a quality brand. They have a lot of track heads that use replaceable MR16 lamps, which are very small. If you go that way, first decision you have to make is 12V MR16's (transformer in each track head) or line-voltage MR16's. I chose 12V based on the lamp choices available in that format. I use LED lamps, not halogen.

Track has two system, halo and juno. that's it, they are otherwise metal strips. I would go and buy Halo track from lowe's or a lighting store and then buy . The bulb is where the quality is so buy heads that allow you to buy bulbs separately, for a few reasons you can also use wide and narrow beam spreads which will help you light things better per use.
