Black dot stains on quartzite

Hi does anyone know what these black dot stains are on my quartzite? i had this countertop/backsplash installed in my kitchen in March of 2022 and sealed and pretty quickly into having them installed these marks began to appear… everywhere. when i reached out to my fabricator he told me its from using dish soap on my countertop to clean it and i am only supposed to use hot water. i called the place where the fabricator bought the actual stone from and they have so far been non responsive to my emails and phone calls. when i initially told them my fabricator told me it was from dish soap they said no way.. thats how you should clean the quartzite, with mild dishsoap.

either way, after May when some of the spots started to appear and the fabricator told me it was from mild dish soap, i stopped using it and only use a microfiber towel with water to clean but im still getting a lot of new spots? i really hope someone has an answer as to why i am getting them.. or even how to remove them? they are so deep into the countertop now i doubt i can remove them please help out

Is it on a plywood base on top of the cabinets? If not, can you open up a cabinet (removing drawers etc.) enough to see the underside of the stone? If so, how do the spots look under there?

Can you show an overall picture of a chunk of counter showing multiple spots?

They all look so similar. What have you used to try to remove them? Fwiw I use vodka in a spray bottle with a microfiber cloth to clean my counters, may be try that? It looks like mold but that makes no sense.

I havent used anything to try to remove it its actually in the stone.. i dont believe a simple wipe will make it come off.. the stone did not have any of these dots to begin with.. regarding the asphalt adhesive: the top of the countertop has the dots on it (not only the backsplash, which is also the countertop). i watched them install the countertop, there was no adhesve on the bottom of it they just put it ontop of the cabinets.. also: what should i be using to clean this countertop daily ? vodka and microfiber?

Looks to be like adhesive bleeding through the stone...plenty of threads here regarding how porous quartzite is. Circles of glue/whatever they used to hold it in place.

There was no adhesive underneath the countertop. Only on the backsplash.. I saw the guys install the slabs on top of my cabinets. No adhesive.

Everyday more and more black spots appearing everywhere.. called the distributor of the stone everyday and his office told me they have received a slab of stone before that was sitting in the warehouse and black spots began appearing on it and they reached out to the quarry but she wasn’t sure of the outcome. This morning i finally got in touch with the owner and am being told that there is nothing that can be done other than him calling the fabricator and seeing if the fabricator can ‘fix the issue.’ He also claims that his office was wrong for telling me that their stones have had black spots appear that never happened. That he’s never seen this before. That the slabs left his warehouse without black spots (which is true, i saw the photos of the original slabs on the flatbed leaving the warehouse)…Not sure what is going on but overall I’m wondering how many more black spots are going to appear… it’s everywhere…….

Laurena- I’m no pro, but are you sure they didn’t use adhesive or anything to secure the quartzite?
