Pittosporum does seem better than Raphiolepis. But I don’t think Cotoneaster looks right.

You are correct about #1b. I had to leave suddenly and didn't look long enough at the photo to see the seed pods. Escallonia perhaps. (But I'm still time short, and admittedly haven't studied it closely.)
