Help with accent siding colour!

I am renovating the exterior of my home. Brick is staying-(reddish brown). Windows are trimmed in black. The plan is to change the downspouts and soffits to black. Roof is staying-not in the budget.

Using Hardie board for the new entrance (aged pewter), iron ore colour door. The hardie board will also be covering the stucco on the front of the house to tie it all in. Thoughts? I am struggling with this! Should I go darker on the hardie board ? Please help.

This is the colour of the brick. The sketch is what the new version will look like.

I would not use black downspouts. They are not design features that deserve highlighting.

Your brick is handsome, and I like the idea of a deeper color on those in-your-face beige panels.

I think the key in choosing another color is to pick a warm color to mesh well with your very-warm red/brown brick.

Thank you for your comment. Sorry, I meant to say siding and soffits. Would you change the siding/soffits to black to match the windows? I am looking at aged pewter Hardie Board. Here is a picture of the hardie board with my brick. I changed the siding at the back of my home.

Thoughts?

I’m somewhat prejudiced against most grays because they’re everywhere these days. E v e r y w h e r e.

Is this pewter a warm gray? In the second picture, it looks cool with a bluish/lavender undertone. IMO, you’d be better off with a creamy-warm-under-toned gray.

Yes it is warm. It is called aged pewter from Hardie collection. it is so difficult to see in pictures. I tried all the greys and this one has no other undertone.

Thoughts?

Rethink (don't do) the new porch structure. It corrupts the clean architecture of the home.

The stone along the base is the same. You are trying to overlay what's trendy today on a classic design and these additions just do not work.

Downspouts should blend in, not stand out.

If you really want a change, consider matching the window color for the panels between the windows.

Thank you. I like the black as well. The entrance is very tight. I have steps up and down. I just got city approval (after one year) to extend the front foyer. It will be difficult to match the brick so I wanted to use Hardie board on the new extension and add it to where the stucco is to blend in the new entrance addition.
