My below message got some good feedback, and I wanted to let anyone with this issue know how to solve it. First, I called a local high-end lighting shop and had them refer their electrician to come to evaluate the problem. He suggested replacing the junction box with this: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Wiremold-700-Series-1-Piece-White-Raceway-Electrical-Box/3277047. His team did the work, and it is a huge improvement. I've attached after pictures below. The after images include our new backsplash. We still need to do some decorating like new counter stools, but it is pretty close to finished. Old message: Please help - Under cabinet power strip without junction box or smaller junction box. Does anyone have under cabinet outlets without a junction box or with a smaller junction box. When we lived in DC, we had some under cabinet power strips installed without visible junction boxes, but I can’t seem to find them here in NM.
