Kitchen Island Lighting Recommendations
Hello! I've lived in my current home a little over a year and have recently starting making some updates to the kitchen. Right now I'm stuck on lighting selection over the island. I already removed the existing chandelier as it had a broken shade, but now I can't find something that is updated yet fits the space. I'm also stuck on whether to do a single fixture or 2 (no issues with having the electrical ran to support seaprate fixtures). The island is 3ft x 7ft. Any recommendations?
The cherry cabinets are in excellent condition and I don't even mind the color. However, I'm on the fence about having them painted White Dove (like the trim) at some point as I continue rennovating other spaces to create cohesion. The countertops are Taj Mahal quartzite and the backsplash a simple ivory 3x12 subway tile. I'm currently painting the walls SW Natural Choice (which is why you see green tape in the pic). The stools are just place holders as I'm on the search for something more substantial.
Any help is appreciated!

3 years agohmm thats tricky! It looks so nice an open now with nothing there, and because the view to see the fixture is mostly from this angle I see why they went with one. I do like the idea of two smaller pendants. I would not paint the cabinets especially white too much tone on tone, you have a nice contrast right now.

nice traditional kitchen. no cabinet painting needed. play up the traditional feel. issue is the stools as its a good sized island but not sure about the overhang. what do you think about more substantial stools..thats more the question. do people congregate so a case for more investment in stools..or not so much ??? first two pics..traditional fixtures ..there would be lots to pick from.......then stools to think about to provide comfort w seating for longer intervals.

Very pretty kitchen.
I have a smaller island and went with 2 lanterns which I love.
I have recently come across this fixture which I love and think might be very nice in your space. It's from Home Depot.
I have considered it in my dining room but I think it's great for an island.
Just one more suggestion for your perusal. (Oh and it's reasonably priced).
