I am pleased with the machine; not so pleased with my quilting technique. On the not-so-bright side..

I decided to try my first quilt with free montion quilting. I must say I did a much better job on my sit-down Tiara, but then I had a lot of practice on that machine. I know my technique will get better in time. On the bright side... I used a Minky backing. I didn't even have to adjust the tension. The stiches were perfectly balanced. It didn't once break the thread or skip a stitch. After all the horror stories I've heard about Minky on a longarm, I was delightfully surprised.

I haven't decided whether to use the computer program or a pantograph on the other quilt top I have ready. I need a little more practice on both those methods before I start. I'm comfortable with spacing the panto, but my tracing accuracy leaves a lot to be desired.
