Your sofa is almost in front of the entry door and appears to be blocking the way into the living room; very unwelcoming. I'd try to rearrange it to be further into the living room. Maybe a bench or chair in front of the window and the plant closer to the cabinet. Definitely a rug down the entry space. Too bad the door isn't where the window is.

You might get some helpful suggestions if you also post a picture of the living room.

I would not focus on the door right now, use the whole space as a living room... the door will enter IN the living room, as opposed to outside the living room.

Move the sectional INTO what you call the entry now, or put your TV on the mirrored all in the entry. Use fresh eyes to think about how you use the space.

Its really a natrow area to the left of the front door. During COVID this was the only sofa set i could get immediately (thus its oversized)

It looks like a nice, comy sofa and loveseat set, but you just don't have room for it. What is the size of the dining area? Could it be switched with the living room? Or perhaps you could sell it on consignment and get furniture that works. Sorry.

This front area is more like a reception room, with minimal seating and no TV.

Loveseats are the bane of good seating arrangements. Sell it and get a pair of small scale comfy upholstered armchairs. You have what I call a "jump-in" living room and you need to use all of it and don't worry about a foyer. Since your photos don't enlarge, it is difficult to make realistic suggestions; can you fix that? Is it possible to close up one of the two large openings to the right of the TV/FP?

Hmm im not sure how to make the pics enlargable. So the whole front ’main’ area is difficult, because of the additions. Idealy I think we’d like to remove the ’openings’ to the right of the tv, but we’d have to put a beam/get an architect. But even then i think the space would still be difficult.

That dining room is just all openings. I would close the two on the living room side and reduce the size of the one into the hall. Your current seating will always be oversized for that space. If you had come here before buying the seating, I might have suggested four small scale swivel chairs for the room.

It is hard to visualize your LR and DR from these pictures. Maybe a scale drawing of the room and furniture? Do you need the blue loveseat that is blocking the entry? If you do, could you move the beige sofa that is now against the window wall so that its back is to the DR? Is there a hall entry to the DR so it is ok to block that access from the LR? The loveseat could then be placed on the window wall.

We might recommend dealing with the living area first, the dining area next, and then the entryway. From what we can tell, that loveseat or settee is really in the way. We might suggest closing off some of the openings between the dining and living. We also might suggest, if you want to keep the living room where it currently is, to get two chairs that are smaller and can be on the wall with openings once the wall is closed up some. This will allow you to be able to walk into the living room with ease. Once that is done, then you can look to the dining room. It's hard to tell from the photos but are you able to add a console with art above it once the openings are closed? If so, then we would recommend that and a rug to help ground the area.

In this first image below, please note how the sectional is facing a wall (which could be similar to yours once you close some of the openings between the living room and dining room), and you could easily put a TV over console on the closed up wall:
