How did I lose a quilt?

Before I leave for the south to escape Minnesota winters, I precut several quilts to take along and piece in Palm Desert. I worked on one last year but never finished it, so I brought it back home along with other piecing I had done. I didn’t work on it this summer, and when I went to pack it up to take along this winter, I couldn’t find it anywhere. My sewing room/office is small, only 9x11, and very organized. Everything I quilt with is kept in that room, so that’s the only place to look for it. How did I lose a stack of forty 10” squares and the pattern? I checked with the folks we rent from every year in California, and I didn’t leave it there. I can’t imagine what happened to that fabric. Did this ever happen to you? Did you ever find what was lost?

Right now, I am looking for some black electrical tape which was last in my tool box. WHO took it? Saint Anthony had better start earning his bucks.

Yes, I think most of us have "lost" our projects. Forty squares really doesn't take up too much space - maybe they are folded inside another piece of fabric??? That is frustrating, I am sure. I am sending good vibes that it shows up!

Yup, I've done that. Usually find it after I cut out another set of blocks.

Lost - so many times! Had "locked" that box contained certain item, but found it had more (or less). Layer Cake bundles can be less than 1-inch tall. I finally got a set of project boxes (CostCo). now two are stuffed (flat) with layer cakes. Be sure to visit Joshua Tree and Road to Calif Quilt show in Ontario (Jan) while in Calif. Sorry, Lois. I had to start using clear plastic containers. Fortunately, when I decided it was necessary for me to do this, Eleanor Burns had a sale....a very good sale on her plastic zippered bags with handles, so that's mainly what I use. I gotta see what's inside. You'll find it at just the best time!

Well, it's not down here. But the weather is certainly nice. I golfed today. This is one of those mysteries that may never be resolved - along with my Girl Scout blouse that disappeared when I was in sixth grade.
