Pat the pods do have OB's, the liquid does not. Disodium Distyrylbiphenyl Disulfonate is an OB. Can't comment about Biz, but I like borax for odors. If you're concerned about the

"green" factor, powder would be your best bet. Also the powder version of Biz would be better than the liquid, as last I checked has sodium percarb. There is no activator so it would take warmer water with added soak time.

Borax has function as a precipitating water softener along with some disinfecting and cleaning and deodorizing properties ... but of course no enzymes so Biz is better for some types of stains in that respect.

What I do sometimes with success in regards to a stains + odors+ plus whatever unfortunate thing has crossed my laundry room is:

Prewash/soak: 1/4 cup powder Biz or one Dropps Oxygen Bleach pod, half cup Borax, line 3 of Tide Free&Gentle liquid (or powder), let machine mix around, pause or turn off machine, allow to soak for however long it needs. Drain and spin.

Mainwash: Line one of Tide F&G liquid or 1/4 cup of Tide F&G powder (same dose if using regular Tide liquid or powder...) 2 TBS STPP. Run through wash cycle as usual.

Over here, this will 99% of the time remedy whatever the situation may have been. I use warm for the prewash/soak and hot for the main wash. Sometimes I feel it would benefit the situation if I let the main wash soak for 20 mins...

Beagle is correct; Tide pods of all variety contain optical brighteners, but they do clean very well. Liquid Tide F&G does not contain OBs.

The last time I used BIZ liquid liquid, rhe perfume was overpowering. The powder scent is not as offensive, and is quite mild.

BIZ is enzymes, Borax is ... borax.

I call the 1-800 number on detergent labels, asking for ingredients when they are not published online nor on the package. They need the UPC scan code on the label to identify which version, etc etc., and thats no problem. in fact, I need to do that for one of the powders I use, because "enzymes" is not sufficient imformation, IMO. I do not want to keep washing good winter wool socks in a detergent with protease.

Thanks to all your help, my new Power-Pods are at our Humane Society. I hope those dogs and cats are not affected by the Optical Brighteners for too long a time! Back to my favorite Tide Free Clear liquid again. Hope that was the last time I strayed.
