Garage entry door not secure in frame

My garage entry door is loose. I guess the whole unit, including the jamb, isn't secure in the framing. Particularly on the left side the molding has come away from the wall. I think I had a contractor tell me this was common with these heavier doors with spring hinges and perhaps low-quality, low-skill built homes?

What do I need to do to secure the door and jamb back into the opening? I assume it isn't just a molding issue?

The right side seems secure, and I suppose it would be as that is the side with the hinges.

Is there a video on how to fix this, or do I have to take off the molding and learn how doors are installed in order to fix it?

Take the trim off. Get some shims. Guessing they didn't shim it.

Frank, you certainly have a long to-do list in your house.

I would suspect the strike jamb is not fastened correctly, or at all, and the door being slammed is pushing the jamb into the garage which is detaching the casing. I have found the same problem with cheap built homes, that on doors with a brickmold (garage, front doors), contractors like to just face nail through the brickmold into the wall - which is not enough. So you might want to fasten the hinge jamb too - they may have just swapped 1 or 2 longer screws in the hinges and there are no nails holding the jamb in place.

You probably have to look up a few videos if you've never installed a door.
