To paint or not to paint?

Really loving this large arched window painted dark charcoal/black in this inspiration photo. It is so me…what are your thoughts? 1st photo is inspiration…2-3 & 4 is my family room.

Oh DIS. I well remember your new home challenges during construction.
Sure sounds like original installation issue. So sorry. Water problems are a pain! Praying things work out as well as can be!

Julie The before and after pictures on your house are stunning! What great improvements you have made. Fingers crossed for you that things work out on the interior as well. I am a little astounded that the owners that you bought from were unaware of these problems.

Julie, I hope you like the “Rocker” benches I found for you. I had this vision of you, your granddaughter and her Daddy on the porch rocking and facing each other and laughing your heads off! 🤗

Julie there are some sellers on etsy that do custom benches. Might try there. I thought these three were pretty

OMG thanks everyone I had seen them all…… DIS I did see that first one but the back has a wood piece…Parker love that kirkland one I had looked at it but it is really not for outdoors they suggest applying polyurethane to it..Flo such a sweet idea but putting benches facing each other just doesn’t look right ..we have tried it with one of the furniture pieces in the back yard just to see…not sure they will be used much..but will add interest and a cute place to pop on a seasonal pillow and small pots of flowers..pumpkins..was up late shopping and think this is it….thoughts? The size is perfect a bit longer than the others and I like the heavy solid look…

Beautiful bench! It looks so solid and has such a presence. Looks like wood but iron?.Its funny you said the bench I showed was Kirklands? I found it on the French country site. I thought the curvature of the back looked so comfortable.. Crazy how so many places have the same piece and at very different prices!

Like the look; what’s it made out of? Something to consider in your northern climate.

Julie I saw these, but they may be more than you want to spend.

Sure, I understand. Just dreaming for you. The Charleston bench is more substantial but too much? Not sure but I know you will test and see. I thought about that one but just went nostalgic on you.

I may be too late, but thought I'd share this idea...  not metal but you mentioned you probably will use them more for display so thought backless might work...

Well guess my eye is worse than I thought. I didnt see the wood on that first bench! Thought there was a mesh and the brick was showing throuhg it. Still working through an unsuiccesfu cataract surgery. Its hard only seeing out of one eye!

Thanks Kjoy..I really like them! Surprised my hubby likes them to…win win…her they are..I picture potted mums and purple garbage all around them for the fall…New Black door has been ordered..we did 2/3 upper glass no muntins just beveled around the edge…..should be installed in the next month or so..because of the size had to be custom! Could not keep the door that is here..of course it is so warped can’t be fixed and hardly closes now..we had towels stuck all around this past winter to keep the draft out..always something in this house!

The benches look perfect, julie, but I am still trying to figure out what the purple garbage was meant to be. And I'm usually pretty good at that! 🤣🤣

Yeah I figured purple cabbage is what you meant. Glad you went with this more beefy style because it stands up to your stone and other elements better.

Very nice! I love purple cabbages!

Hey Julie, I have a favor to ask of you! Would you share where you purchased the scones in your dining room? My sister just purchased a house across the street from us, so excited! Thinking they would be perfect over fireplace. Power already there.
