Hi Teal. Can you take some pix further back, showing the whole window? It’s hard to judge just how large these gaps are. I’m not a pro. But based on my 2 experiences (new crown molding and construction of a wall with a door) work of this type, I will say that I wasn’t happy when I saw my renovation in this unfinished state either. My contractor assured me it would be fine once it was caulked and painted. And it turned out great. Do post some more pix, though.

Teal - totally understand. I’ll say that my very small renovation went 3x as long as it should have (this was before COVID) and I just wanted it done. I will say, that now, 4 years later, it still looks good. No shifting, shrinking, etc. But I get that yours looks scary. Good luck to you!

It's caulkable. Embarassing though.

It may be caulkable, but, you are paying good money for all this, and its not a quality job. I would ask them, to get a person, who does trim, to do a redo of it. Thats not acceptable.
