I am looking for advice on what to do with this large picture window in my living room for windows treatments. I do not need total privacy. Just something that looks nice. Clean and simple. Photos ideas would be great

I think you have lots of options. Woven shades, either alone or layered under drapery. Fabric shades. Or go bold with patterned drapery. Do you have the depth to do inside mount shades or would they have to be outside mount?

Beverly, would you do a solid or print panel? The room is pretty bland now What are thought’s about cellular shades also? A friend picked out this in photo.

    You could do short rods.

Thought about the fireplace. It would make the best accent wall. I'm just guessing that the chair rail could be removed and you could do something like this:

You seem like you like the blue throw pillows, so use that blue on the wall. Use the removed chair rail to outline the fireplace and continue the white to the ceiling. Add a mantel and art.

First off, your room looks really pretty already. Can you share where I might find a rug similar to what you have? I've been searching sooooo long, and love what I see there. If you really like the pretty pop of blue, consider for windows a woven wood shade and panels similar blue like your pillows. Can't wait to see how your room comes along.

Jackowskib. The rug was just bought at Bassett a few months ago. Its still available!

We were thinking these for panels and cellular shades. Thoughts? Im usually a plain solid type person but thinking to adding color.

I would do the cellular shade with blue and ivory vertical ticking stripe curtain panels.

Thank you for sharing the rug information! Funny, I'm already planning to get what looks like same sofa from Bassett, the benchmade sofa in an ivory velvet. I'm no authority on putting window treatments together, but I think the cellular shades are nice. Not sure on the curtain panel color wise because looks different on my monitor, but if you like it color wise with your rug then you should be fine. You're so brave!

Smith & Noble has great online ordering for all those woven and other shades.

@AWARDA Architects, wowsa I just went on the S&N website, priced out one window for woven woods and it came to $470. Yikes! I have 8 windows so will wait to win the lottery, lol.

Yes. It's very good to have and get estimates. Plan ahead. It's good to know estimates ahead before starting any home interior and any improvement project.

I like the look of drapes and roman shades for your windows.

I am not suggesting these colors but to give you an idea. You can also always hang the roman shades on an outside mount.

I have curtains from S&N in one room; they're beautiful and high quality. I also have lots of shades and one curtain from Blinds.com and have been very happy with them. You can get cordless woven shades in a pretty large width, and they always have sales. We also splurged and got motorized shades from Hunter Douglas for a couple of rooms, and I feel so fancy every time they open and close on schedule. But window treatments are surprisingly expensive!
