So glad you didn't pick supercore. We installed it 3 years ago and are disappointed in how it has held up. Over time the short ends stick up a bit and the chairs get caught on them.

Oh, but when I asked for this at a flooring store yesterday, he told me it isn’t recommended for living areas due to a thinner wear layer than the Provenza I saw. How’s yours seem so far?

@Peggy It’s only been a few months but they look as great as the day they were installed.

I was concerned about the nominally low wear layer as well (compared to other brands) but watched a YouTube video on wear layers and learned the 12 mil layer combined with the ArmorBead finish holds up just fine.

A simple test is the butter knife test. Scratch a sample with a butter knife hard and see what happens. Some of the samples with a higher wear layer actually scratched way more easily than the one we chose.

Nicole, your floors look great! Thanks for sharing the details and the after pictures! Did you install these yourself or hire it out? How was the stair nose done? Does Shaw sell it or was it custom? I have a couple of areas that would need that and not all brands sell a matching stair nose and I don’t want to custom make them. TIA!

No regrets. They still look amazing!

Does the white sand give off a pink tone at all?

@kndr629 no not at all. I’d say they are solidly neutral, if anything slightly cool-toned. Here they are in natural sunlight next to a red rug, cream rug, and my white socks.

How was the click system? Did you or your contractor have issues with them breaking during installation? Any scratches/dents, peeling, or bubbling issues so far?

@Alana No issues during installation, and no scratches, peeling, or bubbling at all. We’re very happy with these floors.
