But a good way to find out is to get 3-5 contractors out to get estimates. Check with your local contractor review sites if you can, sometimes those will include things like the cost and scope of work done. That can give you more of a feel for pricing in your area.

You are opening a can of worms by putting on that open gable. Cutting the main beam that supports the existing shed roof changes the entire load path of the roof. You mention in the south so hurricane country, which likely means your local code office won't touch it without an engineers stamp... Re siding the front a good crew could do with vinyl in a day or hardi in two...

Usually people add a gable/porch like that when there is no overhang or protection from weather over the front door.

You have a porch over the front door, no need to spend money on something that does not improve the function or look. Removing the stone and getting a new front door would make it look nicer. I would still keep a door with sidelites, but a more open design.

This is going to depend entirely on your region, the level of experience for your architect, and materials costs which have gone up significantly since COVID. My advice would be to spend some money upfront on design with an architect, then use his drawings to get multiple estimates.

Update the door and remove the stone only around the door-keep the foundation stone. No need to peak the roof. Change the garage door to be the siding colour so the front door is the accent.

Cost completely depends on specific location - one side of town or the other, how remote you are, are you in a ritzy suburb, rural, is there a shortage of workers where you are. Most contractors upped their quotes by street in our neighborhood because they thought that certain blocks appeared wealthier.

Best is to get at least three estimates and make sure you are getting quotes for the exact same amount of work.
