Starting to look at flooring options for a new build. Pros/cons/opinions/personal experience with stained concrete appreciated!

We have young kids and dogs. I personally hate being cold- are they really a lot colder than other floors?

Considering stained concrete because I was told that if I ever wanted to do it I should save $ and do it now and decide if I want different floors later? But I am thinking that may be a pain to put floors in later too
