"a surface top that is plain white"

There's always Corian of which there are four solid white colors. My kitchen counter doesn't really look any different than it did 17 years ago when it was installed.

Apparently this Lapitech is without the resin/plastic that quartz has so they are saying it is better. --Ok just looked it up, there is a lot of Resin in it but wonderful that you have never made a burn mark

Good article ^, although it downplays the lack of inconspicuous repairability of porcelain. And with the required sharp mitered edge, chips are inevitable.

Raimondi, what plain white top do you suggest? This is supposed to be for advice and ideas. I am happy to try to use Trivets etc but with a big family, or house guests helping in kitchen, you never know if there will ever be an accident eventually. the more resilient, the better.. I am seeking information to learn about it and decide quickly. I see you are a pro. what do you suggest? We cook a lot, so it doesn't matter to us if "that"crowd does not. (I assume you mean the modern crowd) I was hoping someone owns this Lapitech. We wanted quartzite slab but it felt too busy so we are looking for a simple white top at this point. Thanks.

Lapitec website says:

So it would appear to be superior to Corian. Like Corian, "Lapitec is a 'full-body' material that is identical throughout and not printed."

A simple white top will show every speck and crumb.. I think that is why the ones with little variations appeal to most people… …

And I’m guessing you were considering Bianco Assoluto. What an ordeal to find a true white not Corian countertop. It’s the only one I’ve found.

No we did white porcelain- LOVE it, stain free, heat free, can negotaite good price, but my cleaner slammed the heay range grill on the side of since area to wash them and chipped it. Porcealin hard to fix! We may just replace a little area of it since we had a little extra left over. I like porcelain. Need to watch fine scratches too, we use beautiful wood cutting boards and are conscious of it.. Let us know what you think..

No, we used the material porcelain. We did not use Lapitec.
