Considering a semi in-ground pool to maximize backyard corner on slope

My backyard is on a steep slope, such that the top of the hill (back-right of the yard feels unusable except for shrubbery. I have an idea in my head, that I could put a semi in-ground pool (likely plunge pool size)

in that corner (rounded, not square); whereby the pool would be level on the far-end, but have a retaining wall on the near end (maybe even a waterfall feature). I'm not sure how it would come out, as it's hard to visualize, but I think I'd be able to use more space, and also since a retaining wall has been put in, the near side of the yard would be more level with the rest of the yard. Thoughts? Suggestions? Alternatives?

I'm attaching a photo, in terms of size (the large tree to the back corner measures 26'; and the corner to in between the two flowering bushes is 17'
