If you don’t replant her or at least cover the exposed crown with good soil (and some mulch if you are still seeing frost weather), she’s not going to make it. I think planting in the ground too late in the season leaves hostas prone to heave. For me, the smaller the hosta (minis as the worst), the more likely to heave.

I find Pandora's Box somewhat temperamental and delicate. She always grows in a pot for me. One year she dropped all her leaves and I thought she was a goner but she grew more leaves and is still plugging along.

Ok! I always find it a challenge with the little ones…..too little soil and roots show, too much soil and you cover the crown….Sigh…..which side to err on?

I had a Blue Mouse Ears that looked similar..I replanted it and it’s been fine ever since..Laurie told me something at the time that makes a lot of sense..small hostas have ”less grip” than bigger ones and can heave..

That happened with mine, I kept on covering it and getting the roots back in the ground. It became smaller each year. If I try it again I will keep it in a pot.

My Cameo (reverse of Pandora’s Box) acted just like Beth’s and faded to gone. I am not planning to replace any minis, as they all heave too much for me.

Yes agree just a bit more soil except on the front eye in the pic. If it pulls itself down deeper over time just remove a bit of the soil. Some mini's can be tricky and PB is certainly one, and yes heaving is usually the issue.

Debra it was such a lovely pot last summer and will hopefully get back to almost the same size by fall.

When I brought it in in that pot, I dropped it and it cracked! I am attempting to glue it back together. ☹️

Take potting soil which is light and fluffy, and pile on top, kinda heavily. It will recover just fine.
